Job Description:
The Program Coordinator position entails supporting people with developmental disabilities in their home in addition to managing a staff team. The successful candidate will be facilitating community based activities, teaching life skills, fostering independence, assisting in planning social events, and assisting them in their home (this includes cooking, cleaning, homework etc). Administrative tasks include scheduling, management of the home’s finances, ISP’s, facilitating monthly meetings, and training and supervision of staff.
What you bring to the job:
- Minimum two year Degree or Diploma in Human Services or a related field
- 1 to 3 years previous direct experience in the community social services sector with a demonstrated working knowledge of community based services to children/ youth with developmental disabilities and the related provincial and community support is required
- Supervisory experience is required including the ability to manage staff performance and ensure program accountability
- At least one year’s experience supporting people with disabilities
- Criminal Record Clearance, including MCFD screening
- Current Emergency First Aid/CPR certificate required by CVS
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Safe, reliable car required with business insurance and minimum 2 million liability
- C.P.I./ Mandt certification
