Jenna Christianson-Barker
President
Jenna Christianson-Barker is a Faculty Member of the Disability and Community Studies Department at Douglas College, focused on preparing practitioners dedicated to thoughtful and dignity filled supports. Through a variety of professional roles, she has had the opportunity to lead federal employment initiatives, sit on national working groups, identify and build on gaps in service, collaborate with both federal and provincial government, participate in and inform research, and create and deliver academic programming. She also works as a Research Assistant with the Canadian Institute for Inclusion and Citizenship and is working on a PhD at UBC in Interdisciplinary Studies, Community Engagement, Social Change and Equity. She is honoured to support the CVS team in their mission to facilitate opportunities for individuals to live the life they choose.

Lynda Miller
Director
Lynda Miller is a Director at Community Ventures Society and also one of our past Presidents. She is a parent who has an adult daughter who is a participant at CVS. Lynda has been a member of the CVS Board of Directors since 2007 and she previously served as Treasurer for 2 years. She is active in her community and has served on various community living boards and committees since 1983. Lynda is now retired after a long career of working as an ICBC Administration Manager. Nancy Anderson
Director
Nancy Anderson, MSW, MLIS, retired from her career in social work (and a short stint in library science) in 2020 and is now privileged to be able to alternate her time between Vancouver and Denman Island. Her social work career comprised a range of experiences, including work with children and adults with disabilities in hospitals, rehabilitation centres and in the community. Prior to her retirement, she was a social worker for over 10 years with Acquired Brain Injury Services in the Fraser Health Region. Nancy continues to seek opportunities both to apply and enhance her skills and knowledge. She has been on the CVS Board since 2010.
Leann Buteau
Director
Leann Buteau, B.ED, M.ED is Principal with the Coquitlam School District who has worked as a student services teacher, low incidence case manager and school based resource teacher before becoming an administrator 12 years ago. She is passionate about inclusive education and employment for the people we serve and looks forward to serving on the CVS board. She is the mother of 3 adult daughters and married to a retired social worker as well as an advocate for a women in her 40s who she has known since their teens.
Karen Headridge
Director
Karen Headridge is the mother of a young lady who is currently in CVS’s Community Inclusion Program. Karen has served on numerous Boards and Committees that are dedicated to the advancement of inclusion for people with developmental disabilities and her experience adds depth and value to the CVS Board of Directors. Additionally, Karen has worked with the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction.
Clare Hetherington
Director
Clare Hetherington is the mother of a young lady who is currently in CVS’s Tamarack Inclusion Program. Clare is a retired District 43 elementary school teacher. Her experience as a resource room specialist supporting students with learning challenges and special needs is a valuable asset to the CVS Board of Directors.
Scott Bewley
Treasurer
Scott Bewley has a wealth of experience in Finance and with the community living sector. Scott was previously the Director of Finance for CVS. In 2018, Scott joined Kinsight in the role of Director of Operations. Since 2019, Scott has worked as Controller for IATSE (the International Alliance of Theatric Stage Employees), Local 891. Scott’s experience in the community living sector and his expertise in Finance will be of great benefit to the CVS Board of Directors.
